AHY vs GRR Prabowo Says? This Is Actually My Prediction in 2018

Last night (Tuesday, 25/02/25) at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Pacific Place SCBD, South Jakarta, President Prabowo Subianto joked (but could also be interpreted as predicting) that the General Chair of the Democratic Party / PD Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) would compete with Gibran Rakabuming Raka (GRR). Prabowo's joke certainly received a lively response from the audience present, especially since they were sitting side by side while listening to the President's Speech last night.
However, if I recall, I have actually already put forward this Presidential joke, even 7 (seven) years ago, precisely on Saturday, 21/04/18 in a discussion in Jakarta. Although the time I predicted was in the 2024 Presidential Election which was still 6 (six) years later.
If you remember, in 2018 GRR was not yet the Mayor of Solo, and was still a Martabak Seller “Markobar (Martabak Kota Barat)” and Catering Chilli-Pari in Solo, while AHY was not yet the General Chairperson of PD, but the prediction is only starting to be felt now. The facts do show that both AHY and GRR in the 2024 Presidential Election were not yet candidates, but at least last night my prediction seemed to be “repeated” by Prabowo when giving a speech at the PD Congress.
At that time, the position was still Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) in the Party that had accompanied me for 15 (fifteen) years, before officially resigning, not just “running away” let alone being fired, by writing to the General Chairperson of PD at that time, Mr. SBY five years ago, to be precise on 11/03/2020 aka on the commemoration day of “Supersemar”. So the prediction that was "repeated" by Mr. Prabowo last night was not just a joke, because there are observations and Pranotomongso (= Javanese term for reading the signs of the times).
Once again, even though I mentioned 2024, it feels like it's only a matter of time, whether 2029, 2034 or later, the prediction of AHY vs. GRR will remain relevant. Even with the determination of Mr. Prabowo's re-nomination as Presidential Candidate 2029 by Gerindra during the KLB yesterday, this rivalry is felt to be increasingly interesting and provide more varied alternatives for the public to channel their aspirations and choices for the future president.
Not to mention if we look at the Constitutional Court's decision to revoke the previous 20% Presidential threshold, so that with 0% now all parties can nominate their own presidential candidates, it seems that the competition will be even more exciting. There are still other figures who are worthy of consideration such as Anies Rasyid Baswedan (ARB) who cannot be underestimated because in terms of capacity and capability, he is not half-hearted, as today's youth say.
Returning to the sitting position between AHY and GRR who were side by side last night, reminds us of the novel entitled "Sitting with the Enemy" written by Sarah Anne Edwards and published by BookSurge Publishing on 06/22/07. This psychological thriller genre film is adapted from the novel of the same title by Nancy Price published in 1987. So both "Sitting with the Enemy" and "Sleeping with the Enemy" are both suitable to describe the events above.
President Prabowo also said that he used to compete with Jokowi in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections, but when he was offered to "be with" his rival in 2019 as Minister of Defense, he did not reject the offer. Although now circulating on SocMed AI Cartoons depicting the Asian Tiger and the Solo Frog in various versions, this cannot be avoided as a political reality faced by Indonesia today.
In conclusion, whether AHY vs GRR vs PS vs ARB or vs anyone else in 2029 (or even earlier if extraordinary things happen), the public is actually not too interested in who is the best as long as they can lead this nation to step forward bravely towards Indonesia Emas 2045, not letting #IndonesiaGelap like now. Of course, don't forget the people's demands to #JustifyJokowi must still be implemented, however the facts of the OCCRP release cannot be ignored, also #MakzulkanFufufafa due to the flawed process of the Constitutional Court's decision which resulted in the Constitution's Illegitimate Child ...
