An Open Letter Demanding the Resignation of Xi Jinping Circulates on the Internet, Containing 28 Allegations of Wrongdoing

Recently, an open letter circulated on the internet demanding that Xi Jinping step down from office. The letter lists 28 allegations regarding policies and mistakes during his leadership. Analysis shows that the content of the letter corresponds to the real conditions in China today.

However, some believe that a change in leadership within the Communist Party will not solve the main problems, and only by disbanding the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will the Chinese people have a future. Independent overseas observer Cai Shenkun wrote on December 17 on the X platform that he received an email on December 16 containing a resolution and a signed article demanding that Xi Jinping step down from his leadership positions in the party, government and military.

The article contains 28 real examples of policies that were deemed to have failed during Xi's leadership. Cai Shenkun guessed that, based on the writing style of the letter, the author was most likely someone from within the government system. The letter criticizes Xi Jinping's various actions which are considered detrimental, and its contents are considered worth reading.

Main Allegation in the Letter :

Destroying the Economy and Market Competition:
The letter accuses Xi Jinping of adopting economic policies that lean heavily to the left, destroying fairness in market competition, and suppressing the private sector.

Bad Policies and Damaging Many Industries:
Xi was accused of not conducting in-depth analysis and investigation before taking decisions, resulting in rash steps that damaged various sectors such as property, education, finance and internet platforms.

Excessive Spending on Global Ambitions:
The letter criticized Xi for ambitious projects such as the Belt and Road Initiative, which was seen as wasting state resources for geopolitical interests without significant results.
Apart from that, the letter also mentions violations of leadership term limits, promotion of an authoritarian system, nepotism practices, and 28 other examples which are considered Xi's fatal mistakes.

Reaction and Impact
This open letter sparked widespread debate. Some linked it to a recent article in Qiushi magazine (the CCP's official publication) about Xi Jinping's “self-revolution.” Some observers see this as a sign that internal conflicts in the CCP are increasingly heated and open.

US-based Chinese political observer Xing Tianxing said that the strategy of “self-revolution” was used by Xi to strengthen his grip on the CCP through an anti-corruption campaign. However, he also saw that the forces of opposition to Xi were strengthening, and his authority was beginning to be threatened.

Change of Leader is Not a Solution :

Analysts emphasize that a change of leadership in the CCP will not solve the fundamental problems facing the Chinese people.

“We must realize that the problems China faces today, as well as the people's suffering over the past decades, all have their roots in the Chinese Communist Party,” said political commentator Lan Shu.

Xing Tianxing added: “Many in the party want Xi Jinping to step down. However, for the Chinese people, the greatest hope is the complete dismantling of the CCP. Only then can a better future be achieved.” (Hui)
