Without a Court Execution Order, the PKBI Office was Evicted,

The Indonesian Family Planning Association (PKBI) office located on Jalan Hang Jebat, South Jakarta has finally been vacated. The emptying was carried out by hundreds of officers from a combination of Satpol PP, Polri and TNI on Wednesday, July 10 2024. PKBI's belongings were forcibly removed by Satpol PP personnel.

This vacancy was the result of a dispute between PKBI and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). The Ministry of Health plans to use the land for the benefit of the community. "We will build it to support the performance of the Ministry of Health," said Legal Expert at the Ministry of Health, Misyal Achmad, as quoted by Tempo. However, he did not reveal more clearly about the use of these assets.

Misyal said the assets in dispute with PKBI belonged to the Ministry of Health. This is based on a land certificate belonging to the Ministry of Health. So far, the Ministry of Health has not been able to use these assets productively. Even though the Ministry of Health is responsible.

"That's why now in the era of the Minister (Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin), the Minister is carrying out a lot of control over assets belonging to the Ministry of Health," said Misyal.

PKBI Against,

Facing the forced vacation of the office by the authorities, PKB is demanding justice against the South Jakarta City Government and the Indonesian Ministry of Health as executors of the land it has occupied for 55 years based on the Decree of the Governor of DKI No.207/2016. Moreover, the legal decisions from the South Jakarta District Court to the Supreme Court regarding the PKBI land on Jalan Hang Jebat are NON-EXECUTABLE.

Founded in 1957, PKBI is the first non-governmental organization (NGO) to pioneer the Family Planning (KB) movement and reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). In its history, PKBI took part in guiding the BKKBN which is now the National Population and Family Planning Agency.

Currently PKBI is present in 25 provinces and 178 cities/districts with its head office in Hang Jebat III/F3, South Jakarta.

According to PKBI, the office land in Hang Jebat was a "grant" from DKI Governor Ali Sadikin in 1970 and here the Training Center and PKBI head office have been established which serve residents, especially women and children throughout Indonesia.

"It really hurts humanity when the government insists on expelling PKBI from Hang Jebat, even though PKBI has contributed for 67 years to support government programs such as vaccination, handling stunting, youth education, SRHR services and humanitarian tents during disasters," explained Dr. Ichsan Malik, Chairman of the PKBI National Management in a release received by ADIL News.

However, ironically, he continued, the Ministry of Health and the South Jakarta City Government want to destroy PKBI and control the Hang Jebat land without adequate compensation.

For this reason, the PKBI extended family throughout Indonesia rejects the expulsion and the government's efforts to hinder PKBI's struggle to realize the health rights of Indonesian families. Sexual Reproductive Health Services (KSR), especially for women and children, is a basic right of the Indonesian people towards a responsible and inclusive family.

"We, volunteers, staff and PKBI sympathizers will survive in Hang Jebat, until the last drop of blood until there is justice for the home of our struggle," he stressed.
